FAQ - Yes, we answer these questions, a lot...

Q:
Where do I get the products you show (in my city)?

A:
If you are in the Hampton Roads area, please visit.

Asia Grocery is located at 5444 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452

If you are not in the Hampton Roads area try the following approach: Google.
Google has a new Local Seach service in testing at Http://Local.Google.Com
Try searches that include keywords like, oriental, grocery, asian, and market, followed by your city and state.

Once you have a few candidates, go to the stores and look around. If you don't see what you want, ask.
Employees might also be willing to direct you to other stores in your area.

As a last resort, become a regular diner at asian restaurants in your area, and ask the employees where to buy asian foods.

Q:
Can I buy the products you show from this web site?

A:
No.

Asia Grocery does not intend to sell over the web.  There was a time when we were going to sell over the, and there may be a time in the future when we will start an e-commerce, but for now, no.

Q:
So, Asia Grocery is a real place?

A:
Just because we don't sell over the web does not make Asia Grocery any less real.

Q:
If you don't sell anything over the web, why do you need a web site?
A:
We don't.

Q:
If you don't need a web site, why go through the trouble of making a web site?

A:
Yeah well...

Sometime ago a son of Asia Grocery's owners registered the name asiagrocery.com and parked it on a friend's server.  He promptly did nothing with the site for two years.

One day, on a web board, a discussion of haw flakes was started.  Apparently there are people who don't like haw flakes and can't understand why anyone would even buy them.  This gave birth to a prank.  The unused asiagrocery.com site would be hijacked and built up to look like a company with a giant warehouse that sold nothing but haw flakes.

Unfortunately, the prankster didn't remove the prank site in a timely fashion and he has been paying for it ever since.

Q:
You won't let me have any of your pictures. Why're you so mean?
A:
Of course you can have any of the pictures here.
You are probably complaining that hot linking is not allowed.
You shoud always right click on the picture you want, and save it to your own computer. Then upload the picture to your own livejournal or xanga page, where it can live, unmolested, for all time.
What is hotlinking?
Hot linking is when you put a link in your livejournal or xanga page so that my server posts the picture for you, on your page. It costs me to serve the picture to your web page. The least you could do is take the pictures you like, and serve them on your own.
Its like when you create a pretty collage or piece words out of a newspaper to write a ransome note. Normally you'd go the library, look through the magazines, and when no one is looking, you'd rip out the pictures you like, and take them home. You don't call up the magazine publisher and ask them to send the picture. Even if you proved you were a starving artist, they'd probably still charge you postage.
